Is There A News Blackout? |

Is there a News Blackout on the latest Abduction and Harassment of Political Activists?
The news regarding the latest abduction of political activists Luisa Posa (SELDA-Panay) Nilo Arado (BAYAN-Panay and ANAKPAWIS) and the assassination attempt on Jose 'Liboy' Garachico (KARAPATAN) were already out locally a few hours the same night it happened. Friday, the following day, early morning news at ABS-CBN aired the report while GMA 7 was busy buiding-up for the Paquiao fight with petty news bits .
Today, it has already been a week, non was aired on TV since that brief news report that friday morning. What happened since then? Why haven't the television news programs reported/updated the news regarding this incident? Is this another one of those cases of media malpractices like doing media-blackouts? Is the government behind the hold-back of this news? Only the media would know.
Let us remember that it took years before the mainstream media exposed the political killings and not immediately after the incidents happened then. These killings and other human rights violations have reached up to hundreds because of the conservatism (and / or disregard?) of the more influential media organizations.
Please help expose these new political killings. It is every Filipino's right to know. It is detrimental to our security as a people especially at a time when we are just about to realize what the Anti-terrorism is all about. Let us urge the Television media to surface this sensitive issue/ incident and investigate like REAL journalists do!
Here are some previous articles released by the print media and organizations. Please read and Pass. Salamat.
PLS HELP SAVE MA. LUISA POSA-DOMINADO & NILO ARADO posted by HUMANRIGHTS (Apr 15, 2007 @ 5:25PM) views: 120 At around 9:30 PM , April 12, 2007 , Ma. Luisa Posa-Dominado of SELDA-Panay, Jose Ely “Liboy” Garachico of KARAPATAN, and Nilo Arado of BAYAN- Panay and ANAKPAWIS were on their way to Iloilo City from Antique when they were ambushed at Brgy. Cabanbanan, Oton, Iloilo , Philippines . Their vehicle, a Mitsubishi L200 pick-up, was overtaken by two vans. Two armed men got off from one of the vans, shot the driver, Liboy Garachico, who was then grabbed and thrown to the street. Witnesses saw that an unconscious Nilo Arado was carried off to an L300 van while a resisting Ma. Luisa Posa- Dominado was dragged to a Starex van. One of the suspects then took the victims’ vehicle and sped off to an unknown destination along with the two other vans.
The witnesses immediately rushed to the wounded Liboy Garachico and brought him to Iloilo Doctor’s Hospital. At around 4 AM of the next day, the victims’ burned vehicle was found at Brgy. Guadalupe, Janiuay, Iloilo .
At the moment, both Ma. Luisa Posa- Dominado and Nilo Arado are still missing and Garachico is still in the ICU.
The Posa Family condemns this brutal act. We hope that our relatives, friends and the sympathetic public will persistently support our call for the release of Ma.Luisa Posa-Dominado and Nilo Arado and pressure their abductors to bring them back alive and unharmed. We pray for the complete recovery of Liboy Garachico. We demand that the perpetrators be brought into the open to face the full force of the law. Let us fight to stop all political repression and extrajudicial killings! Join the SAVE MA. LUISA POSA- DOMINADO AND NILO ARADO MOVEMENT!
Please send this to everyone you know and contact saveluisaandnilomovement@yahoo.com for more ways to help. Thank you.

drunk and barely alive |

This is the first time I actually made an entry while substantially drunk. Yes, I’m wasted. I can’t believe two bottles of Red horse would partially knock my senses out.
I’ve always theorized that there are some bits of wisdom that comes out of a state of wastedness. But I am yet to prove myself right.
One of my good friends told me that whatever attitude you show while you’re drunk is the truest form you could ever be/have. I told her once, that I thought the world was turning. Does that mean that I really think the world revolves around me? Or that I’m the center of the universe?
good. good.
Suddenly, i have so much to say, but then again, I don’t think my fingers can cope by typing the thoughts that are presently running through my head, fast as they are. As I type few words, my mind has gone through a million thoughts already. Too bad.
Ironic isn't it. having more thoughts than normal, while drunk.
Goodness, I hope I don't say anything embarrassing. so before that happens, I’ll end it here. *he he*.
If there are grammatical mishaps, forgive me. My point is, my present "wasted" condition incapacitates me from making sense, nor allowing myself to express my thoughts through perfectly crafted sentences.
Wuh, excuses brought by alcohol-induced condition. crap, But i heard it works most of the time.
I blab. |

things about "it" you never wanted to learn about |

bits of wisdom that shall haunt me forever:
1. "We're not flowers, do we really have to cross-polinate."
2. "I don't like sushi, and i never will. Seasonings anyone?"
3. "Oh dear, that part of me seems like a one way thing."
4. "There's a fine line between arousal and an annoying tickle. Mostly it's the latter."
5. "It's hard to say no when someone keeps your lips pre-occupied."
6. "It's hard to be rational and horizontal at the same time." |

making mistakes |

For as long as you live, and by ‘live’ I mean live like a real normal human being, not that there’s a clearcut definition of what’s normal anyway, you’ll always have stuff to learn about.
No matter what the manner of life’s lessons, they are still worthy of being mentioned, only to serve as reminder never to commit the same mistake again. Never mind that I keep on telling myself that maturity isn’t about making sure not to repeat the same mistake, but it’s more about being smarter, so the next time you commit the same mistake, you’d be better in dealing with it.
But hey, we’re adults now.
1. There’s clear and present danger when it comes to boys-with-sporadic-existence, or seasonal boys as one of my friends label them. Double-edged sword kung baga: on one hand you like it because of the absence of commitment, but on the other hand, the fact that you 'dont care' might eventually lead you to 'care'. Carelessness, one tough cookie.
2. I do not deserve to get less than my own value. I have no desire to give too much credit to all the (unsustained) attention I'd be getting, just because I’m bored to death.. yes, dignity issue ito. I may be glad with the attention, but trust me, I’m no martyr!!! I don’t have to be grateful because he pays me a bit of attention, if only in the end I'll be holding his hand as he walks back towards someone else.
3. I may change my definition of a relationship, perhaps lower it down a bit, but I will never change my standards for a guy. I will not feel guilty for it.
4. And lastly, if the guy is confused, hayyyy… two options for him: either he goes straight out of my door, or straight to my bed. joke. The point is, I don’t want to be the guiding light for the confused who are stuck inside the dark casket of gender mis-identity, because I don’t want to be blamed in the end. Being gay is already high-maintenance as it is, I really don’t want to make it worse.
Those are my lessons, learned the hardway. I hope you got something out of it. |

Tonight, we went out drinking in Gilligan’s Malate. I thought it was just another moment of senseless intake of alcoholic beverage, but no, I was proven wrong. Okay, so there we were, just drinking, when suddenly there was this guy who looks like one of my classmates. It was creepy, they even had the same body language, not that I was totally reading it.
Anyway, I tried my best to be subtle, staring at him the whole time. And every time he looked or stared at me, I updated myself. Two points. Oh, that was long, three seconds. Alright, 4 points. And so on and so forth.
I don’t want to get your hopes up, so in short, nothing happened. As one of my friends said, it was all eye fucking. Eye fucking? What the hell? I told him I never eye-fucked… eye flirt, yes… okay, maybe eye caress… that’s all.
After the guy left, they were teasing me by putting their hands in a heart shape, then separating the hands to show heartbreak. I told them, it was never a matter of the heart, but yes, it might have involved the groin. Bwahaha. Seriously kidding. |
